Week 5: Chicken peppers and egg quesadillas10/25/2023 This week I made chicken peppers and egg quesadillas with sweet rice. I started by seasoning my chicken breast and then cooking it in a pan on medium heat. Once done I Shredded the chicken put. Then I chopped up peppers and added both ingredients to a pan on medium heat and let it marinate. Now I'll make my scrambled eggs and add cheese to them. Get a tortilla add eggs chicken and peppers add the cheese put on a pan of medium heat and let it brown on each side. Check my Recipe to see what seasoning I used and how I made my rice.
Ratings I give it an 8/10 it was really good the eggs and the peppers went well together. My mom gave it a 9/10 she said the peppers make the meal pop. My little sister gave it a 3/10 she’s 3 and doesn’t like peppers but she ate the chicken and eggs. Next week I’ll be making another dish see you then.

week 4 : Bacon Cheeseburger10/19/2023 This week I prepared my second meal, A bacon cheeseburger with brown sugar onions and a side of homemade french fries. This meal was not hard to make and it didn't take too long.
To start the meal get your hamburger meat put it into a bowl add all of your seasonings then mix. Take the hamburger and make patties out of them then get a pan and put it on medium to high heat. Cook the patties for 3-5 minutes on each side. While the hamburger is cooking I wash my potatoes and then cut them up into French fire shapes. Once done chopping I put them all into a bowl and rinse them with cold water. Get a pot and put vegetable oil in and put it on medium to high heat and once hot drop the french fries in there and take them out when they are golden brown. Now, to make the brown sugar onions get an onion chop it up get a pan put it on medium, and put the onions in the pan with some brown sugar. check my recipe to see how I assembled the burger. I give this meal an 8/10 it was good I don't like onions but this went well together and the french fries were a 9/10 love making them. My mom gave it an 8/10 she didn't like the onions because she doesn't like brown sugar.

Week 3: First meal10/13/2023 This week I cooked my first meal which was chicken BBQ and cucumber It didn't take long to make about 30 minutes. I started cooking by getting two chicken breasts out and cleaning them then adding seasonings Take a look at my recipe to see what seasonings I used. Then I cooked my chicken in a pan with 1tbs of olive oil on medium to high heat for 10 to 12 minutes. When the chicken is fully done shred the chicken and add the BBQ sauce. Now get a cucumber dice it up add seasoning then get a tortilla put cheese the BBQ chicken and the diced cucumbers. Cook on medium heat on both sides until crispy.
I like to eat mine with ranch and extra BBQ sauce but overall I give it a 6/10 it was good the random ingredient was cucumber. The cucumber was crunchy with all the different textures it was different to eat but the flavors fit together. I had my little cousin try it she gave it a 7/10 she had bigger chunks of cucumber and that's why she didn't like it she said it made the taco watery. I had my mom try it and she gave it a 6/10 she doesn't like cucumber but she said she liked the chicken. But if I decided to cook this meal again I wouldn't use the cucumbers and add a little more BBQ sauce. Next week there will be a new recipe and blog.

week 2:Preparation for first meal10/8/2023 This week I am focusing on researching and coming up with ideas for meals that I could cook. Also finding the ingredients I will need for each meal and coming up with a budget. All of these things need to be established before I start cooking.
Going into this project I thought it was going to be easy but at that point, I didn't think about having to research and to try find weird food combinations that I think would taste good. It's not easy but I have all my ideas so let me share some. I want to do something with salmon and plums then something with zucchini and eggs and try and combine pineapples and beef so in week 3 I will have made my first meal. When researching ideas used many different cooking and recipe websites and found some good ideas that I plan to combine and change to create my recipes. I also had my mom help me come up with a couple of ideas. I put all of my ideas into a Google doc to help me access them faster and keep track of them. I think it will be challenging for me to create 10 recipes that are unique and taste good but hopefully, they all will taste decent. The last thing I have to worry about is the budget. Once I came up with all 10 recipe ideas I sat down with my mom and calculated about how much this all would cost luckily it wasn't as much as I thought it would be. So now the only thing stopping me from coking is having all the ingredients. I plan to go to the grocery store on the 11th and get everything I need. Then the next day I be will prepared to start cooking my first meal which I will document and add that recipe to the website.

Week one: Creation10/3/2023 This week was really preparing me to start the project. This week I created a website and the final idea for my project. My idea is that I will create 10 meals and each meal will have one unusual or weird ingredient. I plan to do that by cooking one meal each week. The purpose of my project is to help better my cooking skills and hopefully create 10 recipes that are good or bad by the end of the 12 weeks
